The role of an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations can be a challenging one. It not only requires special training and education at the FBI Academy in Quantico, but it asks for skills in research and investigations as well as immense knowledge of criminal behaviors, evidence gathering and law proceedings. It isn't an easy task to become an agent with the FBI and it's certainly not simple to remain one for decades.

And then add being a mother on top of it, and the capabilities fly through the roof. That's the case with Elaine Xydis Lipka -- a homemaker, parent of teenage twins, dedicated community member and FBI special agent.

Lipka has served as an employee with the FBI since 1991, continuing as a special agent since 2005. During that time, she began her family and established a place within her community. Now, she boasts being both an agent and a mom, saying that tackling these roles simultaneously gives more unique, very different perspectives to many of the situations that she encounters -- across both arenas. These two quite opposing hats that Lipka wears has increased her multi-tasking skills and improved her communication efforts. Two different roles, yet two very important roles for Elaine Lipka.
Elaine Xydis Lipka has become a pillar of her community due to the prominent place she has developed while working in the law enforcement community, and for her work as a criminal justice investigator, among other things.
